Within the GPIC’s policy to support and sponsor conferences and gatherings that promote the civilized image of the Kingdom, the company has provided a generous financial contribution to the Energy and Water Conservation Expo 2010 due to be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre during the period from June 14 to 16.

The contribution came according to the guidance of H.E Shaikh Isa bin Ali AL Khalifa, the GPIC’s Board Chairman in order to support the event organized by Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) in cooperation with the Bahrain Society of Engineers.

GPIC General Manager Mr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery said that taking place in such seminars is a matter of great importance, noting the great importance of this Expo which is considered to be a unique platform to meet all the professionals from related industry under one roof to discuss creating alternatives to power and water in order to meet the increased future demand of power and water in the country and the Gulf arena.” It is also an opportunity to promote the latest technologies, products and services available in the electricity and water field” he added.

Mr. Jawahery noted that people need to play an active role in the preservation of our environment, stressing that various education and motivational programmes will achieve that objective.

Spearheading the drive for energy conservation in the region, GPIC has been conducting several conferences, programmes and initiatives during the past years. Meanwhile, the need to rationalize the use of electricity and water is growing in light of the continuing depletion of natural resources in Bahrain and the Gulf region as a whole.

Instilling a culture of energy conservation and balancing electricity usage was always a primary objective of the GPIC.
