23/06/2010 As part of the company's policy to boost efforts aimed at developing Bahrain's youth and investing in Bahrain's human development and future, Gulf Petroleum Industries Company (GPIC) general manager Abdulrahman Jawahery held a joint meeting with John Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic. The meeting was attended by members of the GPIC executive management as well as senior officials of Bahrain Polytechnic.
In a statement on the occasion, Mr. Jawahery said that the GPIC is very proud to provide its support to the county’s students adding that Bahrain Polytechnic is a great project which will form a cornerstone in achieving the vision of the leadership for 2030 in diversifying the economy. "The key point is that this institution recognises the need for higher quality graduates who are aware of what the industry is looking for and they will move straight into the workforce because they have been exposed to business and industry” he elaborated. For his part, John Scott, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic thanked the Gulf Petroleum Industries Company for sponsoring the Polytechnic explaining that this is really the first college which will develop tertiary education with its eye on what business and industry need. Bahrain Polytechnic to graduate its First Senior Class soon. Mr. Jawahery noted that GPIC is planning to train 25 Engineering students this summer from Bahrain Polytechnic to help them acquire the needed skills. Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic commended the initiative and thanked Mr. Jawahery for the company’s unlimited support and cooperation. |
