Within the GPIC’s efforts to boost relations among its staff, the company’s social committee has organized a Table Tennis tournament in cooperation with Bahrain Table Tennis Association at the company’s club.

20 GPIC employees took part in this sport gathering. A game show was held on the tournament sidelines between the players Hamad Bu Hejji and Bader Shamsan. Both are members in the country’s national team.

HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Head of the Bahraini Table Tennis Association and GPIC General Manager Mr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery honored the tournament referees and handed prizes to the first place winner Mohammed Abdul Wahab, the second place winner Gassan Abdulla and the third winner Benkesh Shah.

Salman and Fahad Ayman, first and second winner of staff children competition, were also honored at the end of the event.

On this occasion, GPIC General Manager Mr. Abdul Rahman expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Head of Bahraini Table Tennis Association for his cooperation and efforts in organizing the tournament, praising the role of the Association to boost such sport which attracts number of Bahraini talented youth.

Highlighting the significant role of Sport, Mr. Jawahery said that in addition to the health benefits, sport plays a positive social and educational role in the society. “Physical activities not only enhance public health but it is important in transmitting essential values such as team work, discipline or friendship” he added.

Concluding his statement, Mr. Jawahery thanked head and members of the GPIC’s social committee for their planning and organizing efforts.

Although it takes tremendous teamwork and cooperation to pull off such a successful event, the tournament was a testament to how well the social committee, employees and management pulled together to make this sport gathering both enjoyable and memorable.

For their part, the gusts lauded the company’s keenness to provide the best entertainment programs to the employees and their families, adding that GPIC have always been active in the social sphere.

On the tournament sidelines, Mr. Jawahery handed over a donation in support of the programs and activities of the Table Tennis Association, praising its remarkable efforts aimed at promoting and popularising the game among Bahraini youth.
