The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) is to host students of several educational institutions in July and August as part of its support to civil society organizations and contribution to developing students’ skills.

During their stay, the students will be trained in the Company’s various Departments according to their academic specialization and will be given an opportunity to know about the requirements of the labour market, the importance of training and becoming aware of the real work environment.

GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery said the number of students hosted this year is the highest ever. He said they would be given appropriate training that would contribute to them developing leadership and communication skills, planning and teamwork so as to prepare them for the future.

Dr. Jawahery said the Company has taken all necessary steps to host the students and officials of the concerned departments had taken all steps to ensure there are qualified trainers available to train them on the fundamentals of work and monitor their performance. He said their performances would be assessed after seeing how they dealt with the give work briefing, work assigned to them and how they managed work responsibilities.

Dr. Jawahery said he was happy at the students' enthusiasm and willingness to learn, in addition to their rapidly adapting to the company's style of work.

Dr. Jawahery thanked all officials and employees for their cooperation with the students and in training them according to the best standards, while providing them with all the information they need. He said the company will continue its cooperation with higher education institutions in all fields.
