07 July 2018

The Social Activities Committee of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) conducted a First Aid Course for organisers of the Company’s annual Summer Camp.

The course focussed on the basics of First Aid and Rescue; CPR training for adults and children as well as steps on how to deal with fractures, burns, wounds, bleeding and heat stress. It also included training on how to treat toxin effects and allergies according to the standards of the US National Safety Council. The course was supervised by GPIC’s Medical Clinic Nurse Mr. Nadeem Kamal.

In his comments, GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery thanked the Chairman and members of the Social Activities Committee and said the course emphasized the safety of the staff and participants in various activities during the camp. He said the course would contribute to developing organisers’ skills.

The Camp has been an annual feature since 2005 and includes several activities for employees’ children between six and fourteen years old.

These aim to develop their intellectual and cultural skills and to expand their knowledge in a safe environment, while enabling them to interact with their peers under the supervision of specialists.
