Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery has congratulated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s workers on the occasion of World Labour Day May 1.

He said the day will celebrate the achievements and innovations of workers and those of the future generations from around the world.

Dr. Jawahery stressed the importance of working for the development of society and the prosperity of the homeland, which are the main elements of production.

He said there is no doubt that as production evolves, nations prosper and progress. He said May 1 every year appreciates the workers’ community for their efforts in various sectors of production and commends their tasks of developing and promoting their homeland as the main engine of sustainable development.

He expressed his pride at the Kingdom of Bahrain’s rational and conscious Leadership, which recognizes the importance of work and provides employees with all possible facilities and conducive conditions for production, creativity and innovation.

He said the day is an official holiday for the Government and civil sectors in recognition of the workers and their efforts to contribute to the development of Bahrain.

He extended thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister for their attention and follow-up of workers’ issues and their needs.

Dr. Jawahery said all of Bahrain’s Labour Unions in companies, plants and institutions should be thanked and appreciated for their efforts to strengthen the relationship between workers and employers. He said this is essential to maintain the benefits of the workplace and the rights of workers.

Dr. Jawahery gave his best wishes to all workers and said they all jointly celebrate achievements through their dedication and responsibilities.

He thanked Bahraini workers who have earned international and local respect. He said they are not only Bahrain's true wealth but also an asset to their institutions, plants and companies.

He said they are fully committed to their jobs and responsibilities in the interest of a bright and promising future for Bahrain.
