Methanol is a methyl alcohol and at present, 99% of its production in the world is produced either from natural gas or gases obtained out of oil.

The reformed gas is compressed and passed to the Methanol Reactor. Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide react with hydrogen over a catalyst to produce methanol.
