The Bahraini Plants Garden was inaugurated on 9th May 2005 under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate and Chairman of the Public Commission of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife. Covering an area of 1200m², this innovative project was launched with the prime objective of preserving the indigenous herbs and plants of Bahrain. The garden currently contains 20 different types of herbs and shrubs and has become a very useful platform for researchers, school students and dignitaries alike.
