The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) hosted students from the Al Rahma Center, during a fun visit to Bahrain-Japan Friendship Park at Al Areen, which shows the Company’s commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

The visit was the result of a joint programme implemented by GPIC and the centre. During the trip, the visitors spent a fun time at the park and enjoyed its facilities.

In a statement, GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery thanked and appreciated the Company's team for their interest in various groups of society and directing part of their efforts and time to serve the most needy groups. He appreciated the effort and cooperation, as well as the programme that was specially designed for the students of the center according to their needs.

Dr. Jawahery said the Company is very proud of this beautiful environmental site, and is keen for it to become a favorite destination for visitors, citizens and guests of Bahrain. He spoke of GPIC’s efforts in the construction of the unique natural site.

Dr. Jawahery pointed out that the Company is proud of its people and the philanthropic and humanitarian approach that has become an integral part of its strategies, especially since GPIC has set the community service on its list of priorities. He stressed the Company Management would never hesitate to provide all possible facilities to support these trends.

GPIC, under the guidance of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty King Hamad, had established the Bahrain-Japanese Friendship Garden within the Al-Areen Park on an area of more than 26,000 square meters.

The garden is home to more than 35 species of rare plants and flowers. Her Royal Highness patronized the opening of the garden on February 18, 2015.
