PresidentMrs. Najat Sharif, Human Resources and Corporate Communications Manager at Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC), is amongst the most influential women in the Arab world and the Middle East for 2021, according to CEO Middle East Magazine.

Mrs. Najat Sharif was chosen to represent the energy, power and construction sector, the magazine is quoted as saying that she has a deep understanding of the importance of taking responsibility in implementing the company's regulations and policies, she was described as a role model for leadership and fulfilment of her responsibilities for the position.

The CEO Middle East Magazine said that Mrs. Najat Sharif possesses substantial professionalism and decision-making skills and demonstrates empathy in listening to employees’ concerns while solving their problems according to the vision, mission and values of the company.

Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, GPIC‘s President, expressed his delight at the selection of Mrs. Najat Sharif to be amongst the list of the most influential women in the Arab world and the Middle East for the year 2021 by this prestigious magazine.  Dr Jawahery continued that she deserved to be selected, as Mrs. Najat has always over-performed during her long years in the company. As a Bahraini leader, she is always professional and has the exceptional ability to lead and has an apptitude to effectively influence, which are the traits that made her stand out from the crowd and get selected.  

He added, "She is a prime example of a successful Bahraini women and I am very proud of her presence in the executive management team, and she is the first woman to be on the leadership team in the company".   Dr Jawahery praised great efforts made by the company's employees in all departments, and especially the Bahraini women who have proven themselves, and their efficiency and ability to deal and adapt to the nature of work in this complex industrial field.  Despite its practical complexities, the special professionalism it requires, and specific skills, he affirmed that Bahraini women possess many amazing energy, a willingness to work and great loyalty and dedication to the company.

GPIC’s President congratulated Mrs. Najat Sharif, and extended thanks and appreciation to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, and the President of the Supreme Council for Women for encouraging and supporting organizations in advancing and developing women. He also thanked His Excellency the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors for their great support extended to all the Bahraini women working at GPIC.

Mrs. Najat Sharif, Human Resources and Corporate Communications Manager expressed her pleasure at being selected among the list of the most influential women in the Arab world for 2021. She thanked the Company's President, and its Board of Directors for the confidence they placed in the Bahraini working woman and the stimulating environment they provided, along with the advanced training programmes, which contributed to her personally obtaining this important accolade.

Mrs. Najat Sharif has of more than 30 years working in the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) in the field of Human Resources and Information Technology. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from the Ahlia University in the Kingdom of Bahrain and holds an International Diploma in Computer Science. Mrs. Najat Sharif joined the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. in 1986 and is specialized in all areas related to Human Resources, including strategy, performance, appointment and leadership. She held many high positions in the company during her extended career.

The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) shows great interest in the enhancement of women’s development program and support their advancement in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
